Today I spent the day sorting through items in my house, getting ready to move. It’s really not my favourite thing to do, and I find it quite difficult. So, after 10 hours of working hard, I was very proud of myself for actually getting through most of my stuff, and gathering at least six bags full of stuff to be given away.
One item I won’t be giving away is the hat in the picture. It’s really funny, I know, and I’ve never worn it in public. However I have moved it from Sweden to Greece, and from Greece to Scotland, and it originally came from Moscow. Here’s its story:
While Iain and I were dating, he went to Moscow for six week (or so) for a work project. He brought the hat back for me when he came back to Sweden, where we were both living. It is quite a unique gift in itself, you must admit. But what makes it even more special to me (hopeless romantic that I am) is that Iain decided he was going to propose while he was on that trip. He realised that he couldn’t live without me for six weeks… or at all it seems. The hat will always remind me of that, so that’s why I’ll take it with me every time we move. 🙂
So you see, every item has a story. And you can read what happened next in the story here.
