I love connecting with people. I have always taken for granted the ease with which I do this, and the enjoyment I get out of it. In the last 20 months it has been much more difficult to connect with people for me. The lockdowns made it physically difficult. And then the way that our society and communities have become divided over different issues, have made it emotionally and socially difficult. As a result, I have started to take this ‘connecting with people’ for granted a lot less.
One way I like connecting is to listen to people tell me stories about themselves, their lives and their experiences.
There are are a few people whose stories I have had the privilege to listen to over the last couple of years. They have inspired me, made me think, made me smile, or laugh, or cry. With their permission, I would like to share highlights of these stories with you. I will post one story a week for the next four weeks.
